Hi, I’m jAUN’kERRA lEIGH.

I am a provisionally licensed counselor who believes healthy children turn into healthy adults.

I graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2021 with a Master of Science in School Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2017. I have over five years of experience in the education field. I am a School Counselor by day and a Mental Health Counselor by night.

In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry and spending time with my family. I believe every child needs a champion, and every parent can never have too much support. All adults were once caterpillars, but we change, grow, and evolve.

Book your free 15 minute consultation with me below to help your child transform into a beautiful butterfly that is ready to take the world by storm!

My Approach

I use a person-centered approach combined with expressive play and art therapy to help children and adolescents find and express their identity, thoughts, feelings, and unique talents and gifts. Through this approach, I help strengthen social-emotional learning skills like self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship skills, and cope with challenges like anxiety and depression.

the ultimate goal

Through collaboration with you (the parent) and other stakeholders, your child will gain and possess the academic and social-emotional skills to become a global leader and productive citizen that contributes to their community.

At the conclusion of counseling, all clients will show responsibility and make self-directed decisions, show empathy and appreciate diversity, value themselves and others, and show resiliency by developing solutions to short and long-term challenges.

core beliefs

  • Mental health counselors should collaborate with families, community resources, and various stakeholders to help ensure all clients are successful.

  • Mental health counselors should abide by legal and ethical standards.
